New Hope Christian Center is an open and affirming church

Meet our pastor

Reverend David J. Pettitt

Rev. David J. Pettitt  is  our founding pastor, May 2007. There was a 3 year break while David planted a church in Puebla, Mexico. Actually, David has planted and influenced the planting of a number of groups and churches.

He is also fluent in the Spanish language and Mexican Culture. He was ordained in Monterrey, Mexico on November 26, 1999 at a ceremony exclusively in the Spanish Language, before a couple of hundred witnesses.

David spent 18 years in  Metropolitan Community Churches, prior to striking out and planting an Independent, Non-Denominational Church for all God’s People.

As such we are free to help individuals create and maintain a healthy, loving, and growing relationship with our Creator God.

Jesus never promoted any religion, but rather Kingdom Principles for living, through the Liberating Teachings found in the Gospels of Jesus Christ.

His emphasis has always been to offer Hope and Healing to those in need, through his unique God-given gift of teaching. David believes he has a charge to help make the ancient first century scriptures, fresh and relevant to twenty-first century inhabitants.

YMCA JANUARY MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Spotlight On: David Pettitt

After suffering a stroke in June 2016 that left his entire left side paralyzed, David Pettitt spent two months in a VA facility, where he had to re-learn how to talk, walk, eat, and even go to the bathroom. Although his future was uncertain, he was determined not to be limited by a wheelchair or even a cane. Today, he’s 50 pounds lighter, has lowered his A1C to 5.6 – which his doctors call a miracle – has had his medications reduced, and even takes the stairs at the Bear Levin Studer Y to get to the Wellness Center for his daily workouts.
